When not to convert MIDI to LPCM
- Skip LPCM for the smallest share: lossless output stays large, so prefer a lossy target when sending MIDI files.
- Keep a master copy: repeated exports stack small losses, so archive MIDI before batch LPCM shares.
Limits
Starting point: MIDI - MID files store note events with no audio of their own. Rendering needs a soundfont, which sets the final timbre. Disc rips may interleave channels; verify mapping after conversion. Encode LPCM (PCM 16-bit) from MIDI at 256k for music or 128k for speech, starting from the master.
