How cropping works here
Drop an image, drag the crop box to the region you want to keep, and press Crop. The kept pixels are copied through untouched - cropping never softens what remains. Lock a ratio preset for platform shapes or type exact pixel coordinates for precise cuts.
Crop first, then resize
Cropping changes shape and composition; resizing changes dimensions. For the smallest shareable file, crop to the right shape here and finish with Image Compress.
How it works
- 1. Drop an image - Add a JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF or HEIC image.
- 2. Frame the crop - Drag the box, lock a ratio preset, or type exact X, Y, width and height in pixels.
- 3. Crop and download - Press Crop and download the result in the same format - or pick JPEG, PNG or WebP as output.
Ratios and formats
- 1:1 square for profile pictures and posts
- 4:3 and 3:2 for classic prints
- 16:9 for covers and thumbnails
- 9:16, 4:5, 3:4 and 2:3 for stories and feeds
- JPEG, PNG and WebP output - same-as-input by default
Private by design
Cropping runs locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
FAQ
How do I crop an image?
Upload an image, drag the selection area to the desired region, and click Crop.
Can I set exact crop dimensions?
Yes. Enter exact width and height values in pixels in the settings panel.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Cropping only trims the image area - the remaining pixels are unchanged.
How do I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Type width, height and X/Y coordinates into the fields next to the canvas. The crop box follows your numbers exactly.
Which output format should I choose?
Same as input keeps the original format. PNG is lossless, JPEG is smallest for photos, WebP is smallest for the web.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser - files never leave your device.
